Research
Research is the most important value at First Endurance. We are driven
by a desire to ensure our products are proven to enhance endurance
performance, have scientific validation and are safe and legal for
competition.
The Endurance Research Board's (ERB) objective is to offer a broad
perspective on both innovative and long- standing endurance nutrition.
Through the First Endurance Newsletter, the ERB will bring information
on key topics critical to improving endurance performance. The ERB's
expertise and racing experience will be used to collaborate on future
First Endurance products in order develop the best endurance products
in the world.
The ERB stands apart from all other science teams. In addition to
having advance science degrees, each member of our ERB races at an
elite level. Our scientists are professional mountain bikers,
professional triathletes and Cat I cyclists. These scientists fully
understand the meaning of VO2max, anaerobic threshold and lactic acid
because they enter the same races you do. The information provided
through the ERB consists of solid science along side proven race
experience. The result is a team of race ready scientist.
Members of the Endurance Research Board include:
Sally Warner
MA Ph.D.
| As an exercise physiologist,
athlete, and coach, I have encountered numerous so-called "performance
enhancing" supplements that have no evidence to support their claims.
As a critic, I witnessed other cyclists benefiting from Optygen, but
still deliberated for a few months before I decided to try it. I have
raced bicycles for 12 years both on and off-road. Since I started
taking Optygen, I have noticed several performance benefits. I am
producing more power at a lower heart rate at all levels of intensity.
During high intensity efforts, I experience less pain, breathing
stress, and fatigue (both mental & physical). My HR recovers
between efforts much faster than ever. Prior to Optygen, I would
require at least 2 minutes to get my HR from 170bpm to below 120bpm, it
now drops from 170bpm to below 80bpm within 1 minute of recovery! As
you know, the rider that can generate, sustain, and repeat the highest
power output with the least physical stress is the most likely one to
win a race. Once you try Optygen for 10 days you will understand why my
opinion changed from skeptic to advocate! Optygen really works!! |

Sally is an exercise physiologist, coach, and professional
mountainbiker who applied her advanced science degree to practical 'on
bike' experience.
Sally has been racing bikes for over ten years and as a pro for the
last five years. Her cycling has taken her to competitions all over the
world. Sally has been engaged in many competitive sports including
soccer, lacrosse, ski racing, and horseback riding. She became a
cyclist as part of rehabilitation from knee reconstructive surgery in
1989. She also enjoys yoga, nordic and alpine skiing, rollerblading,
hiking, and snowshoeing as part of her cross training for cycling. In
1992 Sally was diagnosed with low bone mass (osteopenia) and in 1994
with a heart arrhythmia (supraventricular tachycardia). These
adversities have only strengthened her drive towards acquiring and
disseminating knowledge of health and the benefits of exercise.

Neal Henderson, MS CSCS
As an exercise physiologist,
coach, and professional athlete I've been
extremely pleased with First Endurance's use of scientific research to
develop their products. For 2003, I've made a conscious effort to train
not only harder, but smarter. Adding First Endurance products
to may daily routine has been a big part of training smarter and
recovering better. We are committed at First Endurance to
using
scientific information to develop our endurance supplements, and for
producing quality products.

Shawn Dolan Ph.D.
| As an exercise physiologist,
sports nutritionist, and triathlete, my
interest in Optygen is safety of use and its ability to enhance
performance. After
using the First Endurance
system I feel comfortable recommending these products to athletes for
their safety and performance.
It is very difficult to tease
out what exactly enhances performance because there are so many
variables that enter into the equation (adequate energy stores, optimal
recovery, fluid intake, proper training, fatigue etc). Optygen, EFS, Ultragen and MultiV, I believe, have the potential to alter this equation in a positive direction and enhance performance by increasing endurance and decreasing recovery time.. |
